{A little about location...} Marshall, MN Photographer
Location is key in custom photography, and while there are many incredible places to take photos that will provide a great backdrop to record your relationships, I often ask my clients if there is any place that is sentimental to them where they would like to have their photos taken at. Depending on what you are looking for in your images, having your photos taken in a place that means something to you, your family and in your relationship can make those images all the more special. Maybe it is your first home, the park you were proposed to, the hospital the day your baby is born or a special place that brings back great memories of a loved one that is no longer with you. All of these are great ways to incorporate even more meaning to your images as well as a wonderful way to include and honor family members that may no longer be with you.
Each year around my birthday (which is a day after my brothers' birthday) my husband and I take my son to a place that is sentimental to me and a place both my brothers took me to quite often. Every year I take my sons' photo in the same spots I took them the year before and I always take some new poses as well. It has been a fun way to watch him grow up, but as he gets older it will be a fun memory I can share with him about his uncles, one of whom is no longer with us. These yearly photos are priceless to me, not only are they recording my sons' growth, but being in the location is special and when I look at these they just make me happy and mean even more to me. I look forward to having our own family photos taken here in the fall this year so that the three of us can be in pictures together :)!

{One Year Old} MN Photography
At the beginning of July, Lil' Sprout Memories turned ONE! Over the past year I have learned A LOT--about business, photography and myself! I have enjoyed getting to know my clients, their families and capturing moments that will be enjoyed for years to come. I appreciate every referral and every session I have had the pleasure of photographing. In order to better serve my clients and create a full experience, I have put in place a few changes.
The first big change is CONSULTATIONS! Custom photography is meant to be tailored to meet the needs and personalities of the client I am photographing--it also requires time from both the client and photographer. I feel that through meeting with you beforehand (preferably face to face) I can better gage what kind of session and images you are looking for and therefore you as the client will be even more excited about the final product! The initial consultation is also a great time for me to meet your children as well especially if they take awhile to warm up to strangers--before the session day and before they are in front of my camera! This will also help me answer any questions you may have before your session instead of spending time during your session to get to know one another and answer any questions you may have. During this first 30 minute consult, we will discuss location and outfit choices, I will learn a little about you and I will let you know what to expect the day of your session. After your session, I will contact you and let you know your images are ready for your photo review, this review takes place in my home and allows you to see all of your edited images, ask any questions and place any photo orders (prints, frames or canvases). While this process may take more time on both our parts, I believe it is worth it to create an entire experience from start to finish and to make your photo session go as smooth and stress free as possible. After all, you only get professional portraits done every now and then, the experience should be special, unique, stress free and FUN!
Keep an eye out for more exciting things to come from LSM! I look forward to finding more ways to serve you better and provide the best quality images and products that you will cherish for years to come! I thank all of my clients, my husband and son from the bottom of my heart for all of your support over the past year and I look forward to seeing more of you in the upcoming year and years to come!

The next change is DEPOSITS! I will now be requiring a 25% deposit on ALL sessions (family, senior and weddings). This deposit is non-refundable in the event of a cancellation and is required to hold your session date and time. Your deposit will be due at the time of your first consultation with me and the remainder of your session fee will be due at the time of your session. This is especially important for brides and grooms to make sure your wedding date is booked. Simply stated, if your deposit has not been paid, your date is still available for others.
I can't wait to capture many more moments like these in the years to come!
Cheers and I look forward to working with you soon!

{At Home} Lifestyle Photographer
"It's not the place that makes a home, it's the people..."
I had the chance to photograph my first lifestyle session last weekend for one sweet family! This family is incredible and it was fun watching them interact with one another! These boys were the sweetest, they were adorable and I am so grateful to have been chosen to photograph them! I spent the morning with these little guys and their parents, who have been friends of mine since high school, and I loved every minute of it and I love every photo from this session!

{Only this little once...} Marshall, MN Child Photographer
I wish I could make this time last forever...every minute is so precious when they are little, and while every minute may not be enjoyable {temper tantrums--yikes!} its the moments like these that make it all worthwhile. I am so blessed to be able to capture it for my family and for so many others!
